How we protect ourselves and our customers

At NewData.Tech, we take security very seriously. We work hard to make sure that any information — belonging to our clients, colleagues and company — is safe and well protected.

Here are some of the things we do to protect your information:

• We follow industry and government guidance
• We regularly test our systems’ security controls
• We keep our colleagues informed about the latest types of threats
• We never ask for any of our clients’, colleagues’ or business partners’ passwords to any websites, apps or services

We also regularly monitor for any fraudulent activity, and we ask everyone to remain vigilant to the risk of fraud.

Known impersonation attempts

We are aware that certain groups or individuals have previously attempted to impersonate us. They pretended to be employees or representatives of NewData.Tech, made references to fake NewData.Tech websites, messaged people on WhatsApp under the guise of “recruiters”, and tried to scam them by falsely hiring them to complete various tasks, using cryptocurrency transactions in the process. These are sometimes known as “task scams”, which you can read more about in this news article.

We have reported, and will continue to report, any fraud to the relevant authorities as well as to all other relevant stakeholders, such as domain registrars and platform administrators.

We want to reiterate that www.newdata.tech is our only website domain. The following domains are not ours and that any emails received from any addresses using these domains are not from us:

We would also like to point out that the following phone numbers are not ours, and that we don’t have any representatives based in the US or any representatives using US-based phone numbers:

We will never make unsolicited contact (also known as cold outreach) via instant messaging services like WhatsApp.

If you come across someone claiming to represent us, who you suspect might be pretending to be affiliated with us:

• Do not engage with the sender any further.
• Report the incident to us by emailing security@newdata.tech.
• Do not share any personal information or financial details.
• Do not click on any suspicious links or download any unexpected attachments.
• Document and report the impersonation attempt to the relevant platform and to your local authorities. Examples include:
  • Report a WhatsApp message directly to WhatsApp by using their in-app “Report” function, and also block them from messaging you any further
  • If you suspect fraud or have shared personal information, file a report with your local authorities or cybercrime unit
  • For additional reporting, you can also notify organizations like Action Fraud (UK) or the Federal Trade Commission (US), depending on your location.
